Stuff an tings

Been a very busy boy working away until the wee hours ( 2am this morning ) getting loads of pots made for a few things I have going on. The best 20 or 30 pots will be heading for the show I blogged about in my last post. The snow came and went ( eventually ) and I moved myself back out into the garden a bit reluctantly I may add. That took the best part of a day as I decided I needed to see what condition my clay stack was in after the sub zero temps we had and have a full clean and sort out. The clay was in a bit of a state to be honest but nothing a load of kneading didn't sort out, phew I wish I had a pug mill! I have really enjoyed this batch of pots so far, after losing 9 out of the 12 press moulded dishes that I had made and it wasn't until I thought about how many directions i'd rolled that clay out in it dawned on me why, platelets and all that, ha! So that is that I guess I don't seem to have left the house for weeks which is slightly worrying but good to immerse myself and not give myself even time to blog but needless to say normal-ish frequency of blogging will resume as the pressure is somewhat off all of a sudden, feels good to have just got it done and tonight I shall be in bed before midnight with a full stomach, a blog post done and not head to toe in red clay. Cheers.

Those fresh-slipped ones look like chocolate!

And that finger-combed dish at the top looks as though you could have looted it out of an ancient country cottage, you're doing great stuff, potter from the shed into the kitchen.

My clay's frozen solid too.
I was thinking of axing bits off and microwaving them back to life, but then... I thought of how fast my wet hands would freeze, and... I chickened out.

Stay above the floods, Matt!

Great stuff Matt! I agree about that combed platter on top. It's a beauty. The images are strong.

Rock on in the midnight hour!
