A Separate Reality
6 February - 28 February 2010
Imaginative and unusual paintings, prints, glass, sculpture and pottery by six artists. Sadie Brockbank creates otherworldly landscapes in paint or collage as well as playful sculptures of anthropomorphic figures and animals. The images in Frans Wesselman’s etchings and stained glass are often inspired by the stories and figures in literature such as Shakespeare’s fools and philosophers.
The oil paintings of Pembrokeshire by Jo Kimpton particularly focus on her understanding and appreciation of colour in the landscape. Jennifer Bartlett makes collagraph prints of megaliths and ancient stone circles from across the country. Juliet Dyer creates imaginative sculptural ceramics of people and animals involved in the natural world. Matt Grimmit makes functional slipware pottery decorated in lovely rich glazes decorated in the traditional manner.
