Column of clay

Making tapered sided jugs isn't something i've really tried before and although it's not the easiest shape to make it's a darn sight easier than big belly's! This ones about 16 inches tall and needs a pouring spout, now then what sort of spout????? Erm well that might just ruin this pot if I get it wrong and then there's decoration to consider too oh ........ back to it then, cup of tea first!

I have always found this shape difficult too. (I know too much pressure from the inside...but its so hard not to!) This one is just beautiful. Cant wait to see the spout.

I loved your photo montage, Matt. Those medieval jug shapes do seem easier than big bellied ones, Ray Finch makes both shapes beautifully.

Hey, Nice one Matt, want to see how this comes out!

(I'd say go look at Mick Casson's spouts, but then, that's just me... )
